This research report examines the economic, employment and welfare effects of the COVID-19 pandemic in Fiji, Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands during 2020–2021. It analyses business closures, redundancies, unemployment, household insecurity, social pressures, vaccine uptake and uneven recovery prospects. The report recommends continued assistance to businesses and households, stronger employment protections, expanded health and digital infrastructure, support for civil society and coordinated international assistance.
